Formado em Licenciatura em Música pela UEMG, aprofundou seus estudos sobre técnica, harmonia, improvisação, Jazz, Blues, Samba, Bossa Nova e realizou Work Shops com Tuco Marcondes, Juarez Moreira, Toninho Horta, Mozart Mello, Joe Moghrabi, Márcio Okayama, Ulisses Rocha, participando também de diversos Seminários e Oficinas. André Furtado foi guitarrista da banda de rock Neutral por 5 anos e atuou diretamente na produção do primeiro CD do grupo. Em 2013 lançou seu primeiro álbum solo, intitulado “Cidade”
