One normal night
Like any other
Except it wasn’t

A simple message
A warm welcome
A new beginning

How could have anyone foreseen
What that would have become
From nothing, something grew
A new love affair

And all of a sudden they were
Talking every night
As if they had always known each other
As if they had to be together

But there was envy on the lookout
Trying to make it not work out
They were both an easy target
Bound together by just love

So they got shot by the same gun
Gutted by the one person who
Made the same mistakes
And took them both to the grave

Their love wasn’t as strong
As they once thought
So it came to an end
By midnight
