Ghost of Yesterday

Seven Spires

Composed by: Adrienne Cowan
There is far more to a soul than it's vessel
Or so they say
But I must play the role for which I'm chosen
Facing judgement for all that I have made

I would rather lose myself 'neath these watercolour skies
And wander till I forget my name
She is an illusion, a ghost, but I don't mind at all
I'll dance with the ghost of yesterday

Everyday it seems I'm chasing my redemption
For a life I threw away
And had I known, I wouldn't waste a second
But this is now, and now is far too late

I would rather lose myself 'neath these watercolour skies
And wander till I forget my name
She is an illusion, a ghost, but I don't mind at all
I'll dance with the ghost of yesterday

Am I awake?
Or am I dreaming?
Day bleeds into night, bleeds into day
This body aches
But they're the ones screaming
This is who we are, there's no escape

I would rather lose myself 'neath these watercolour skies
And wander till I forget my name
She is an illusion, a ghost, but I don't mind at all
I'll dance with the ghost of yesterday
