LOST IN MY HEART

DERICK DANTAS

Composed by: DERICK DANTAS
I thought I knew the way to happiness
Followed every step, but ended up in mess
Looking for love in every wrong place
Trying chasing the dreams but there's no trace
The city lights are shining but they feel so dim
I'm surrounded by the noise but still it’s quiet within

And I'm tired of pretending I'm alright
I'm holding on to pieces of a broken night

I'm lost in my own heart, nowhere to run
Trying to find the answers, but they never come
And I'm walking down this road of empty streets
With every tear I cry, I'm feeling incomplete
But I’ll pick up all the pieces of this shattered soul
And find my way back home, make myself whole

I used to think that love was like a fairytale
But now I see the truth behind the veil
Promises were made just to be broken
And every word we could say was left unspoken
Now I'm dancing with the shadows of the past
Learning that nothing ever really lasts

And it’s hard to keep on fighting with myself
When every part of me is crying out for help

I'm lost in my own heart, nowhere to run
Trying to find the answers, but they never come
And I'm walking down this road of empty streets
With every tear I cry, I'm feeling incomplete
But I’ll pick up all the pieces of this shattered soul
And find my way back home, make myself whole

Maybe one day I’ll learn to let it go
And love myself enough to grow
But for now, I'm just a wandering soul
Trying to mend what love has stole
